Counselor and Well-Being

Counselor

Our school counselor provides comprehensive counseling and guidance services, including support for decision-making, conflict resolution, self-esteem, and coping strategies. They work closely with students to address any issues that may affect academic potential and serve as a key resource for child abuse/neglect concerns and crisis prevention/intervention.

Additionally, our counselor liaises between the school and community or governmental agencies to ensure students and their families receive necessary support. Individual and group counseling sessions are available to help students navigate personal and academic challenges.

School Selection

The School Selection Process offers students in pre-kindergarten through 11th grade the opportunity to apply to attend any school for the 2024-2025 academic year that has available space, other than their designated catchment school. This process is particularly encouraged for 5th grade students at Hackett, as participation is necessary for admission consideration.

Admissions decisions for special admission schools are based on factors such as report card grades, PSSA scores, attendance, punctuality, behavior, and specific criteria like auditions.
